The core of all our programs is Skate & Create.

EMPOWERMENT ON BOARD
Skate Session
We organize Skate Sessions for women, gender minorities and allies to skate together and to empower each other in public skateparks. The Sessions provide a welcoming space for the community to meet and skate together. Each session is hosted by two Roll Models, who provide advice, guidance, skateboards and safety equipment welcoming all to take part and build connections and confidence. By cultivating a sense of mutual support and solidarity, the sessions break down barriers in a male-dominated sport. Participants are accepted and celebrated for being themselves, however they choose to identify.

MUTUAL INSPIRATION
Creative Workshop
The Hera Creative Workshops foster artistic expression and creative collaboration while addressing sensitive topics, promoting mutual inspiration and understanding. All workshops are individually constructed to ensure respectful discussions, safer learning spaces, to build connections and give resources for everybody to develop their aspirations and explore their potential.

PLATFORM FOR THE COMMUNITY
Skate & Create Events
The Skate and Create Events feature projects such as the Hera Zine, Pop-Up markets, Street Zines and exhibitions that showcase both workshop outcomes and individual artworks of collective members, promoting artistic expression in a supportive environment.

SOCIAL SKATEBOARDING
Superhera
The social skateboarding program Superhera is designed to support migrant and queer youth in Berlin, facilitating social integration through skateboarding. The program fosters a sense of belonging and challenges gender norms. We collaborate closely with local schools, youth centres and migrant welcoming classes, offering young people the chance to step outside the classroom, engage with their local community and explore public spaces, build confidence, and develop a sense of belonging in their new home.

HERA DIY
Skatepark Building
We are in the process of constructing our own DIY Skatepark in Heinersdorf, Brandenburg, bringing together a diverse community of women, queers and allies, kids and youth. By building this skatepark at Haus des Wandels, Hera is creating a space for empowerment and skill-sharing. A space that can host various activities such as skate sessions, workshops, summer camps, festivals, and more.
This initiative creates inclusive spaces for social interaction, collaboration, and diversity while empowering participants to shape a unique skate environment. With engaging local children and youth in the process, our goal is to inspire transformative action through creative participation in developing this space.
