EMPOWERMENT ON BOARD
Skate Session
The Hera Skate Sessions are for the community to skate together, develop new skills, fostering empowerment and mutual support for Flinta+ and allies in public skateparks. Each session is hosted by two mentors, who provide advice, boards and safety equipment welcoming all to take part and build connections. The sessions take part monthly from April to September. We keep you posted in our social medias and in our calendar.
MUTUAL INSPIRATION
Creative Workshop
The Hera Creative Workshops foster artistic expression and creative collaboration. Each workshop is individually constructed to ensure respectful spaces, and to provide resources for everybody to develop their aspirations and explore their potential. While creating together around topics that matter to the community, there’s space to exchange, and to embrace mutual inspiration and understanding. Keep an eye on our social medias and our calendar.
PLATFORM FOR THE COMMUNITY
Skate & Create Events
The Skate and Create Events feature Pop-Up markets, the Street Zine and exhibitions that showcase both outcomes of the Creative Workshops and individual artworks of community members, promoting artistic expression in a supportive environment. We create publications such as the Hera Zines and Street Zines to share the community’s thoughts and feelings, and to give the community more visibility and to amplify its voices. We keep you posted in our social medias and in our calendar.
SOCIAL SKATEBOARDING
Superhera
The social skateboarding program Superhera facilitates social integration through skateboarding, supporting migrant and queer youth in Berlin. We collaborate closely with local schools, youth centres and migrant welcoming classes, offering young people the chance to step outside the classroom, engage with their local community and explore public spaces, build confidence, and develop a sense of belonging in their new home.
DIY SKATEPARK
Skatepark Building
We are in the process of constructing our own diy skatepark, bringing together a diverse community. The skatepark is located at Haus des Wandels, one hour outside of Berlin. A space for empowerment and skill-sharing is growing here which can host various activities such as skate sessions, workshops, festivals, and more. With engaging local children and youth in the process, our goal is to inspire transformative action through creative participation. We keep you posted in our social medias and in our calendar.
DIY SKATEPARK
Skate Workshops
We host skate camps and workshops for kids and youth, for groups and people of all ages in our skatepark. Our mentors are committed to making every skate workshop a special and empowering experience for everybody, no matter the skill level or previous experiences. We keep you posted in our social medias, in local newspapers, in the newsletter of Haus des Wandels and in our calendar.
DIY SKATEPARK
Skill Sharing
We organize workshops focused on specific skill sharing, for example welding. We invite knowledgeable professionals to share their expertise with the participants. The diy skatepark offers a great space for all kinds of crafts and building with tools. We keep you posted in our social medias and in our calendar.
DIY SKATEPARK
Community Sessions
We invite the community to come together in our diy skatepark for skating, hang outs, bonfires. The forest and lake is very close, for walks. All ages, genders, wheels and skill levels are welcome. We keep you posted in our social medias and in our calendar.
DIY SKATEPARK
Open Skatepark
Every Tuesday from 4-6 pm we open our diy skatepark for everyone who is interested in skateboarding. Whether you’ve ever stood on a skateboard before or not. While we don’t offer formal skate lessons, during the two hours in the skatepark we skate together and share tips and tricks. Please contact us if you or you kid wants to join.
